All-American 30-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner

Exceeded my expectations, (What's this?) This pressure cooker is wonderful. It is made in the USA! I was able to process the double layer of jars on my flat-top cook-top without problems. It was exceptional easy to regulate the PSI as well. My mother has a pressure cooker from the same company that is 30+ years old and it is still going strong.
twice as fast, (What's this?) better than my old canner you had to watch it every second so the pressure would not go to high and explode and because of the size I can can twice as much in the same time.
It's worth every penny, I use this pressure cooker for canning exclusively. If you can a lot of garden vegetables (if you do, you know what I mean by "a lot") there is no better product. Not only will you be able to can vegetables like beans that require pressure canning, but you will more quickly can tomatoes than you ever could in a water bath canner. Quality - especially American made quality - (how often do we see that these days in consumer goods?) doesn't come cheap, but it is an investment and will literally last a lifetime. A simply beautiful product, solid, thick, strong and durable. Don't hesitate. I know it's not cheap, but cheaper products will disappoint.
REALLY SOLID!, (What's this?) Got this canner as an early Christmas gift at the very end of November and was very impressed by three things: One, the solidity and excellent workmanship of it's construction, Two, it is made in the United States, and three, the response from the Manufacturer to my phone call inquiring regarding the missing instruction manual, weights and metal layer dividers which were supposed to come with it but were accidentally left out. The person who answered the phone was cheerful, helpful, knew precisely what to do and did it immediately. The missing parts arrived by mail directly from All American no more than 5 days after the phone call.

If for no other reason, I would recommend this manufacturer for their marvelous customer service. Fortunately, their product appears to be just as good as their service staff!

Waaayyy different experience from my last issue with a new Chantal tea kettle which was defective out of the box: retailer (NOT Amazon) would not take it back, and insisted that I needed to handle the warranty through the manufacturer, who would not respond to multiple phone calls or e-mails - Chantal is now, obviously, now on my list of "Never purchase this firms crud again for any reason".

I can't wait to use this canner for larger batches of dill pickles once Kirby cucumbers are back in season and available! Don't care what anybody says, even in California, pickling cucumbers are not available on the market in November, and when you live in an apartment, growing them yourself is not a terribly practical idea.
Great canner, (What's this?) This is a great canner and my Amazon purchase was flawless. I wish I'd bought this size 10 years ago.
THE standard for Pressure Cookers, (What's this?) All American has long been THE standard for pressure cookers. I use mine as a sterilizer for preparing mushroom spawn, and substrates. It also does a great job of making canned goods. The All American 930 easily fits 14 quart jars, or 6-8 spawn bags, depending on how full they are. Im very happy with this purchase, the price was right, and the shipping was free. This thing is built well enough, that my kids will be using it long after I am gone. This purchase was a great investment.
Sucessfully used on a glass top stove, wonderful canner., I raise my own organic meat chickens (in the suburbs, no less) and knew that eventually I would have to get my own pressure canner to take advantage of the stock that can be made from the leftover bones after cutting up the dressed birds for the freezer. I did several hours of online research and people who really liked this canner reasoned that it was built like a tank and would (or already did) last for several several generations. It was also the only pressure canner that all the little Amish cookware shops sold when I shopped in Holmes county. Besides, I could do 14 quarts at a time, cutting my canning time in half!

After consulting my husband (this was a considerable purchase for us), we agreed that it would be worth it to get something that would last a really long time and not have to replace any gaskets and we were willing to take the risk since we currently owned a 7 year old Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 glass top stove. The stove is getting slow to heat pots and the oven runs about 50 degrees low and we'd really enjoy upgrading to a gas range someday so we agreed to be really careful and see if we could use the pressure canner on it. We also agreed that though the canner can also be used as a boiling water bath canner, We wouldn't use it for that since I already have a large stockpot for that purpose and the additional weight might push the glass top over the edge. We purchased the canner at Lehman's Hardware for $269, the tax and gas to get there made the savings over amazon a wash but I needed it right away.

I studied the user's manuel a day in advance and studied it thoroughly. This thing strongly resembles a bomb and I didn't want it exploding.
Best pressure canner, (What's this?) I previously had a pressure canner with a gasket that would always leak. The All-American canner has no gasket and therefore no problems with leaking. I also love the fact that I can process 14 quarts at a time. It is a real time saver.
Top Quality, (What's this?) I have just finished a couple rounds of canning raw pack meat, and I am in love with this canner. It is made in the USA and is a quality you don't find these days. This is one of those items that will be passed down for several generations.

My only advice is to read the manual thoroughly. It is different from other canners because of the metal to metal seal, so you must follow the instructions for lubrication and tightening to get the best results and not damage your canner.
Not a Throwaway, Had mine for over 25 years and it hasn't let me down yet. Due to the weight, it is hard on solid surface stoves. I'm replacing my range and would love an induction cooktop but NOT with this canner-that's why I'll have to spend big bucks for a pro line dual fuel (has those heavy cast iron grates). A pot filler is on the wish list so I don't have to lug water to fill this baby as I plan to can for as long as I breath.

The high heat generated by a pressure cooker can kill more bacteria than a regular hot water bath, making this pressure cooker the ideal tool for canning vegetables and non-acid fruit. All-American's 30-quart pressure cooker/canner holds up to 19 pint jars or 14 quart jars. Only All-American pressure cookers/canners feature an exclusive, precision-machined "metal-to-metal" sealing system. Clamping locks align the cover to the base, forming a steam-tight seal. This means no gaskets to crack, burn, replace, and clean. At the same time, the metal-to-metal seal permits venting under unusual pressure conditions, making the seal safer than conventional rubber or composition gasket cookers. Crafted of the finest hand-cast aluminum, this durable cooker/canner features a stay-cool Bakelite top handle, geared steam gauge, automatic overpressure release, and pressure regulator weight with settings of 5 psi, 10 psi, and 15 psi. The attractive satin finish is smooth and easy to clean. Double thick edges provide added protection on points of heaviest wear. The total measurements are 19 inches high with a 12-1/4-inch inside diameter. All-American pressure cookers are made in the USA. This cooker/canner is not suitable for glass or flat top ranges.
